MyPublisher- Find Them On Facebook

Go to Facebook and search: MyPublisher (just like that)-- LIKE them- and then click on 'Free My Mini' on the left hand side.

Register your secondary email address (your extra non business email address) with them and you will receive coupon offers. They do not bombard you but they send you really good photo card deals.

I - unfortunately- missed out on the 'My Mini' book but was able to score an awesome coupon deal- 10 photo cards FREE and I got FREE shipping!

It may take a week until they send you a coupon deal but register on FB, get your FREE 'My Mini' (once you sign up you only have a few days to order), and wait for deals.

Online Shopping/ Free Shipping/ Coupon Codes

I love shopping online, but I HATE paying shipping costs. I will search in a million places before I pay shipping and sometimes I will delay my order or even cancel my order if I cannot find free shipping.

**Remember when you shop- go through www.shopathome.com and if you are new to shop at home- link here so I can get credit : http://www.shopathome.com/?IAFCG=q7CKc9sHmZ6NmKP6GgmtSw==

If the store I am shopping at is not offering free shipping I first google 'online coupon codes for (the store). Often times the following helpful websites will pull up: http://www.retailmenot.com and www.couponcabin.com. These sites will often times have available coupon codes for certain stores. Sometimes you will find free shipping codes but other times you may find a % off code that will take the place the free shipping code you were looking for.

If I cannot find a coupon code, I will turn to http://www.amazon.com/gp/prime?ie=UTF8&%2AVersion%2A=1&%2Aentries%2A=0 . It is $79/year, however there are ways to get a free trial or if you are a student, possibly receive it for free. Take a look.

Another source is www.ebay.com . You never know what you will find on EBAY and for how much.

The other day I was offered a free year at www.shoprunner.com . I have to say that I am glad it was free. As of now it looks like they do not have a huge store selection that you can shop through. They did have Toys R US, however.

Keep in mind, if you are shopping at www.walmart.com and I think www.target.com some of your surrounding stores will offer 'ship to store' for free! This is a good deal because it will save you time and you will be able to avoid strolling through the aisles.

I have noticed that most stores begin to offer more free shipping as the holidays near.

Watch The Cashier

A tid bit that is hard to follow when you have lots of kids (or even one kid) or the slightest distraction.

As you are at the register checking out- make sure to try your best to FOCUS on the cashier as she/he  scans your coupons.

Make sure that every coupon is scanned and if you think that a coupon was not scanned properly, speak up and ask.

Today I was at Target and had a 'feeling' that the cashier did not scan two of my coupons, but I did not speak up. Sure enough, when I got in the car I noticed that she had not scanned 2 $1 off coupons. It was not the end of the world and life goes on BUT it is money ;g

So pay attention and speak up.

To Complain or Not to Complain- That is the Question!?

I've worked in Customer Service all of my life- it is one of the hardest jobs that a person can have. Not only are you being critiqued when you service your customer but so is the company that you are working for. You are the face of their company.

Often times, customers will only let companies know when they've received a negative experience versus a positive experience. I believe that it is important for companies to be notified of both positive and negative experiences and possibly even ways they can improve their stores.

One of  my favorite shows that I have just started to watch is called 'Undercover Boss'. CEO's from a variety of different companies pose as undercover potential new employees so that they can get an inside look on how well their company is being run and how the employees and customers are treated. With this said, I think that it is important that we (customers) take the time to tell companies how they are doing- be it bad or be it good.

I think that it is so important to contact a company (I like to go to their website and send them an email) when you've received great customer service; from any type of facility (department store, restaurant, fast food facility, etc.). If you've noticed an improvement on how a company manages or how a company has improved in any way, take the time to let them know.

Two weeks ago, we ate at Red Robin on a Friday night. It was extremely crowded, however we received excellent service from management and from our waitress. After I got home, I made sure to take my receipt out, go to the Red Robin website and put in a compliment towards the facility and to the waitress. I was later notified that my compliment was forwarded to the actual facility. I like taking the time out to do this because as I stated earlier, Customer Service jobs are tough and it makes for an amazing day to receive a compliment/ pat on the back.

On the flip side, if you've received poor service, I think it is important that you notify the company as well. When I say 'poor service', I mean really really bad service that puts a bad taste in your mouth. For example, on my birthday we went to IHOP for breakfast. It was packed and it was obvious that the staff could not handle the crowd, however it was more obvious that the manager could not handle her staff and could not handle the crowd. It was the worse experience that I've ever had at a dining facility. I knew that I was not overreacting because my husband- who rarely complains- told me his dissatisfactions also. When I got home, I visited the IHOP website, clicked on the customer service tab and explained what had happened. Within 24 hours I received an apology email and within 1 week I received coupons for 5 or 6 free meals. This made me very happy because my experience did deserve free meals. Keep in mind, when I put in complaints, my goal is to not receive free food coupons, but to let the company know what has happened so the management can fix the problem. When I do receive free food coupons, don't get me wrong, I do take the time to do a HAPPY DANCE!

Don't forget, provide feedback for the service you received not only from restaurants but from hospitals care, department stores, gas stations, hotel stays, theme parks etc..

Let me know what happens.

Read This Before Shopping Online!

Before you shop online- register with http://www.shopathome.com/ . This is a website that is linked to thousands of stores- Target, department stores, BuyCostumes.com and tons more. After you register, type in the name of the store that you are wanting to shop at. If the store is on the list, it will pop up and show you how much of a % back that you will receive (at a later date in the form of a check- aka rebate). You then click on SHOP NOW and the computer will pull up a separate screen and take you to the store's page. Once that has happened- start shopping.

_________________________________________________________________________

Here is my unique code that will give me credit once you register--so please click on this link to connect you with shopathome. Once you register you will have your code that you can use to encourage friends to sign up also ;-)

________________________________________________________________________

LOVE these websites. I previously used www.ebates.com, however I stopped after I discovered this website. This website has higher % backs than ebates.

Unfortunately, not all stores are listed, however before you shop online- why not take a look and save more $. It's always fun to get surprise checks in the mail.

How to Make Fresh Baby Food

I fell in love with the concept of making my own fresh baby food when I took care of kids in my home and a mom, Reagan (aka Colin's mom), would always pack his lunch with fresh baby food (no jars of baby food). At first I was a little skeptic, but once she explained to me how fresh it was, how easy it was to make and how much cheaper it was I thought I would try it on the other daycare kids.

I LOVED it and the babies LOVED it and it was not only fun to make but it was fresh and so much cheaper! I vowed to make fresh baby food for LIFE and to spread the word about the greatness of it.

Fresh baby food is so simple to make and it takes very little time! If you have time to  make yourself food then you have time to make your baby food. Below are simple instructions on how to make fresh veggies, I chose spinach:

You can either use frozen veggies or you can buy from the produce section. I purchased mine from the frozen section.

Market Fresh frozen spinach- estimated cost $.75 (had a b3g1 free coupon)

Follow package instructions.

Once cooked- pour entire pot into a blender.

Blend to make mushy so baby can swallow.

Pour into trays. I received this nifty tray from a friend, Michelle, however if you don't have a nifty tray you can easily use ice trays!

Whatever you use to pour your food into, make sure to cover it with foil or the lid.
Place into freezer until frozen.

Once frozen you can either keep the veggie cubes in the trays or transfer to a ziplock bag and place back into the freezer.

YUM!

Get creative- Often times when I make spinach or sweet potatoes or carrots I like to throw in a banana or an apple into the blender to sweeten it up! As the baby gets bigger, cook noodles and throw those into the blender also w a dash of cheese.

When you are making fruit- it is the same concept - however after you clean your fruit, place the fruit into the blender and add a splash of juice (any type) and blend.

If you find that your fruit or veggies are too 'runny'- add some baby cereal or baby oatmeal to thicken up the food.

This particular bag made 8 servings for under 10 cents each!

Much cheaper, much healthier, and fun to get creative!

Free/ Almost Free Stuff I Got This Week

I will be the first to say how great it is to get something free or almost free, especially when it's clothing :)
The Wendy's FB page announced they were giving away tons of FREE Wendy's 'Vintage' shirts so I signed up for one and it arrived a week later! They may still be giving them away.

A new bagel shop 'Big Apple Bagels' placed an announcement in the SA Paper on Sunday letting everyone know of their Grand Opening! Along with this announcement was a B1G5  FREE Bagels! I spent $1.08 on 6 bagels! Unfortunately creme cheese was not provided so we simply ate only 3 of our bagels (over 2 days) w butter and jelly!

I stumbled upon an ad for Jolly Time Popcorn. They were giving away lots of FREE boxes of popcorn so I signed up for a box and the coupon arrived in the mail on Friday! FREE is GOOD!

CVS now lets you print photos directly from your FB. How awesome is this!? To announce this new change they are giving away (until tomorrow) 20 FREE prints from your FB! YEAH! Prints were ready in about 2-3 hours and they were FREE!

Keep Your Receipt!

Have you ever purchased an item- be it a large appliance, toys for your child, a present for a friend, or clothing and then looked at the ads for where you purchased your item and discovered that what you purchased is now on sale? That can be a little frustrating, but I have wonderful news.

Did you know that if you present your receipt to the store that you purchased your 'now on sale' item to, they (most often) will give you the difference of what you paid? I've done this with Target, Kohls and Best Buy- probably other stores also but I can't remember off the top of my head. I'm not sure what the time limit is, I would assume up to 2-4 weeks after purchase, but each store has their own policy- just ask.

Before I head to c/s I try to mark the items that are now on sale so that it will be easier for the cashier to type in the product number to confirm. In addition, (at Target) I've had the c/s cashiers offer to type in each product # to see if anything else had gone on sale that I did not know about! LOVE IT!

So if you notice that an item went on sale-- even if you'll only get back $3-- visit the Customer Service Department ;-)

Simple Tips on How to Save When You Have a Baby

I've had 3 babies and when I had the third baby I finally figured out smart/ common sense ways on how to save money w baby purchases.

Below are some tips- feel free to share more tips you may have that I don't touch on  and feel free to ask questions.

Diapers (aka poopy catchers): Unless your child has allergic reactions to certain brands of diapers, try not to stick with one diaper brand. I am lucky that my child has no allergic reaction so she is able to wear any diaper brand that I find the best deal for. After taking care of kids in my home, I began to realize that ALL diapers (at least during the day) are all equally good pee pee and poopy catchers. From the store brand to Huggies or Pampers, they all work and each have deals that can save you money throughout the year.

With that said, now you need to hunt for the deals. Remember the 'extra' email address I suggested that you create.... now is the time to use it. Visit and register with all the diaper websites such as www.huggies.com or www.pampers.com. Often times when you register your email address and home address you will be sent coupons and diaper samples! Remember along with samples, normally come high value coupons.

www.walmart.com has a link to a variety of samples, often times they have diaper samples- go take a look.

Remember: use your coupons... if you have a store coupon - try to find a manufacturer coupon so you can use both on one purchase. Try to use these coupons when the store is having a diaper sale. I buy most of my diapers at CVS (we will talk CVS 101 soon). Amazingly, I think they have the best diaper deals.

If you have a friend that clips coupons, but does not have any diaper wearing babies, ask them if they will hold back any diaper coupons that they may come across.

Keep in mind- If the store brand diapers are cheaper than the name brand diapers even after coupons and specials- buy them instead of the name brand. I've used Target, Walgreens, CVS, and Albertsons store brand diapers and they work great!

Formula: Unless you are breastfeeding and you have absolutely no need for formula or unless your baby has special formula needs, read and learn!

All three of my babies were formula babies. Unfortunately, I did not realize that formula is formula. Name brand is the same as store brand EXCEPT FOR THE PRICE!!! Look at the store brand formula and do as it says on the package 'compare to... Enfamil' or 'compare to Similac'. You'll be amazed- they are the same but the store brand price is much less.

Before you have a baby or soon after you have had a baby, sign up and register for  the 'baby clubs'. I call them 'baby clubs' because I don't know what else to call them. Sign up with Enfamil (www.enfamil.com), Similac (www.similac.com), Gerber (www.gerber.com) and any other name brand formula you can think of.. Parents Choice is another one. When you sign up with these companies, you will begin to receive samples and valuable coupons! Similac will send you two nice size jars of formula and will continue to send you Similac checks in $5 increments. With these $5 checks you can score FREE Similac formula. I always use the $5 checks for the 'already mixed' formula that normally costs anywhere from $5 to $6. When I first signed up with Enfamil I did not receive any samples but I did email them directly and ask them which formula they suggested since my daughter was having constipation issues. Two weeks later I received a small sample of formula along with a coupon. Only use the coupons (checks) if you can match them with good deals.

Sams Club and Costco (more so Sams since they have a better variety) have the best store brand deal that I have ever found. I am not sure the ounces but the jar is huge and sales for about $20!

Clothes: Having a baby is fun and exciting and often times we get carried away with shopping for baby clothes! My two pieces of advice in this category is BE CAREFUL AND SLOW DOWN. In my opinion, baby resell shops are not always a good bargain- shop around. Often times stores will have better deals- such as Childrens Place or Old Navy. In addition, you can normally find an Old Navy coupon in their flier or at times on their FB page. You can also sign up at www.childrensplace.com and register your child's information and you will receive a % coupon off around your child's birthday as well as throughout the year.

Slow down....... shop as you need baby clothes. This is hard for many of us, especially if you have girls but if you want to save money this is what you  need to do! Most often, infants wear onesies and sleep in sweet peas or footy pj's; there is no need to buy a massive amount of these. Buy your child 2-3 nice outfits, for church etc.... Most often, moms will buy so many clothes that the baby will  never wear them and all that money is wasted.

Baby Food: Instead of buying jar baby food, I save money by making my baby her food. This is so simple and it is fun and in my opinion is healthier. In the next day or two I will blog on how to do this. It is worth doing and it saves so much money!

It's Hard to Pass Up a Good Deal

Deals can be very hard to pass up, but if the deal is for a product that you know you will need in the future, those are almost impossible to pass up.

Today I ventured to Target. I had a few things on my list and I had a few Target and Manufacturer coupons that I could match up and they  happened to expire today, but I was only going to use these coupons if the deals were good- most were not.

First Deal- I was really surprised to run into this deal:

Target Sale: Buy 2 Boxes of diapers and receive a $10 Target gift card to use on your next purchase.

I would normally walk past this deal because I can get diapers cheaper at CVS w coupons and CVS deals, HOWEVER, here is how I made this deal amazing:

(2) Pampers Box Diapers- $29.99 each x 2= $59.98

I used a $2 Target Coupon (any pack of Pampers) & a $10 off of 2 boxes of Pampers. I was able to use both because one was a store and the other was a manufacturer coupon!

$59.98 - $12 (coupons)= 51.07 (after tax)

After my transaction I was handed a $10 Target gift card!

So basically- each box of diapers were $20.53!

With the $10 gift card, I simply made a second transaction and applied it towards the remaining purchases!

Sunday's Amazing Walmart Deal

I am trying to learn how to shop at Walmart with coupons. I have to say that I did pretty good my first time! Remember: Always go to the store's website to read their coupon policy and each coupon policy may depend on the region you live in.

Colgate Wisp 4 pack $ .94 - .50 cent coupon= .44 cents
Avent Pacifiers $5.97
Schick Disposable Razors $1.97- $2.00 coupon= 3 cent MONEYMAKER
Oral B Electric Toothbrush $5.97 - $10.00 coupon= $4.03 MONEYMAKER
Oral B Electric Toothbrush $5.97- $10.00 coupon= $4.03 MONEYMAKER
Newspaper (not shown) $1.60
Dr Pepper 10 $1.25- $1.25 coupon= $0
Store Brand Pull ups $16.47

GRAND TOTAL: $16.39 + 1.35= $17.74

IF YOUR COUPON IS MORE THAN THE VALUE OF THE PRODUCT AT WALMART (AND REMEMBER EACH REGION MAY BE DIFFERENT), THEN THE REMAINING TOTAL IS ADDED TO THE TOTAL COST OF YOUR BILL! NO MONEY LOST! AMAZING AND WONDERFUL!

I Did a Happy Dance When I Left CVS Today!

Later this week or next I will Blog on how to shop at CVS, but for now I must give you a preview on what you can get IF you shop right at CVS!

Spend $30 on certain listed products and get a $10 gift card to your choice (Macy's, CVS, Shell, Applebees, Gap):

Wisk $4.99- $2 coupon= $2.99
Wisk $4.99- $2 coupon= $2.99
Duracell $5.99 - .75 cent coupon= $5.34
Pampers $8.99- $1.50 coupon (off 2 Pampers) - $3 (CVS Pampers coupon) = $4.49
Pampers $8.99- $3.00 CVS coupon (spend $15 on baby products and get $3 off) = $5.99
2 Chocolate Fun Packs $2.00- $1.00 CVS coupon= $1.00

Total= $22.80 - $1.00 (Prev ECB) - $10.00 (ECB for taking a CVS survey)=

GRAND TOTAL- $11.80 + .95 tax= $12.75

After transaction - received a $10 Gift Card to Shell!!!!!!! (Stocking Stuffer)

So basically I was 'out' $2.75

So as you see- after using a combination of Manufacturer Coupons and Store Coupons--- you can save a lot of $ at CVS!!!

It was so exciting because before I started gathering the items on my list- I went directly to the BIG RED COUPON MACHINE and it spit out the $3 off Pampers CVS Coupon! 'It just keeps getting better'!

Store Brand vs. Name Brand

I will be the first to admit that the 'packaging' of ANY product can win me over. Throughout my life, more so now, I've tried really hard to not pay attention to the pretty packaging with bright colors, but the quality and price of each product.

My thought is that when you are looking at purchasing a product, you should always look at the 'store brand' of that same product. If you have a coupon for the name brand product but the store brand product ends up being cheaper, my thought is you should buy the store brand product. I know that sounds like common sense but you'd be surprised at how many people are scared of store brand products.

Now there may be store brand products that do not stand up to the name brand product, but until you know, I challenge you to try. I remember when I was pregnant I bought Kroger Tums; not the same as the real Tums-- quite a big difference.

Last night I made broccoli & chicken w noodles. Everything was store brand and it turned out delicious!

Online Money Making Surveys

There are quite a few Online Money Making Surveys. I started looking into these 4 years ago when I became a SAHM and I was bored! (Just being honest) I looked into a handful and most survey groups were big pain in the butts! Quite a few of them would make you take a survey to see if you were eligible to actually take a survey and most often you were not eligible.

The only survey group that I found that was actually 'pain free' and legitimate was http://www.epollsurveys.com/epoll/clients/index.htm . This survey group will email you surveys and if you are emailed a survey, you are automatically eligible. They do not waste your time. The great thing about www.epoll.com is that they do not bombard you with surveys and they do not SPAM you.

Here is how it works- when you are survey eligible- they will email you a survey. Try to take the survey within 24 hours (sometimes they will send you a reminder if you've not taken the survey). After you take the survey (honestly), you will be rewarded 'points'. These points will accumulate after time and you will earn a choice of a gift card; such as Target, Amazon.com, Olive Garden etc..

You will not earn a gift card overnight. I like to take tons of surveys before looking at how many points I've accrued. I have earned at least 3-4 gift cards since I've joined.

The way I look at this is, it takes no time to take a survey and sometimes the survey are interesting and free gift cards are fun to get in the mail!

Good luck and let me know if you join.

At that time CVS will be running a Buy 4 Starburst and get $1 back in ECB's and at that time Starburst should be on sale for only 50 cents. (Limit 1 ECB deal)----

I love deals like this ESPECIALLY around Christmas! Stocking Stuffers!

Two Things

First: Always flip through the Parade magazine in the Sunday paper. Today they have a 55 cent off 1/2 gallon of Borden Chocolate Milk! I buy one of these once a week! It's weird because I've noticed that often times, the store brand of chocolate milk costs around the same as the Borden brand.

SecondLater this week, I will post about CVS. Today, I'd like to share that CVS is amazing! They gave me $10 in Extra Care Bucks (money to be used at CVS) to take a pharmacy survey! I was glad I took this survey not just because of the money I was paid but because it was interesting.

Can't wait to teach you guys about CVS!!! I love CVS right before the holidays!

I will also post my deals that I got at Walmart this week!

Target Tips and Some of My Finds Today

I LOVE Target, especially now that I've learned how to shop at Target!

Here are some Target tips that I've learned:
1- Look for red tags! When I see a red tag I get so excited inside, however, all red tags are not good deals! Red tag deals can be anywhere and everywhere all over the store. At my Target, when I have time, I try to go down every aisle and I take the time to look at the very top of the shelf to the very bottom of the shelf. Look at each end cap. Sometimes there will be tons of red tag products all on one end cap! When you see your red tags-- look closely at the red tag. They are not all good deals. Some are great but some are only 30% (which is not worth celebrating). When you find a red tag deal you like, open up your coupon book and see if you can match up a coupon with it. (This is why you should always bring your coupon binder with you!) Psst.. they sometimes have red tags in the food section (frozen foods, snacks etc...) If you do see a food product that is red tagged make sure to check the expiration dates.

2- Target.com has a link at the bottom of their screen that links you to Target Store coupons. With these coupons you can combine them with manufacturer coupons! This means if you have a $1.00 Target coupon for- let's say- Poptarts and a $2 manufacturer coupon for Poptarts-- you can use BOTH coupons therefore saving a total of $3 on top of any sale Target might be having that day! I suggest that you check the Target coupon link often because the do change and remember you can print up to 2 coupons!

3-Google 'Target Mobile Coupons'- click on the link. This link will have you enter your mobile phone number and once this is done, Target will text you mobile coupons up to 5 times a month! I just signed up for this but I'm assuming you just show your phone to the Target rep when you are checking out.

4- Target.com can be great! Every now and then Target.com will have certain clearance products that they will ship to you for free, no minimum purchase. I love deals like this because I never know if I can find the item at the store and I hate paying shipping! Take time to look at Target.com and register your information. I believe doing this, Target will at times mail you Target store coupons.

Baskin Robbins

Every Friday I try and take my girls to the local Baskin Robbins for an end of the week ice cream treat. Even though they get a kids cup or cone, Baskin Robbins can be expensive. At times there are coupons in the paper and on their FB page but these coupons may not match up with what you are ordering. As I was at the register one day, I discovered a comment card that offered $1 off of $4 on your next order. $1 may not seem like a lot but it does add up!

If you do not see this comment card at your BR, visit www.baskinrobbins.com/feedback

Email Address

Quite often when you sign up for a special online offer, sample, coupon website you will be asked to provide your email address. If you are wanting to prevent constant advertisements or if you are wanting to separate your business emails from your personal 'fun' emails I recommend creating a new email address.

I actually have 4 email addresses!

Where Do You Get Your Coupons?

"Where do you get your coupons?" This is a question that I am often asked as I am strolling in the grocery store or checking out. The great thing about 'today', is that coupons are EVERYWHERE!

1. Sunday paper: This is the most practical and common place to get your coupons; just remember that coupons are not in the Sunday paper if it is a holiday weekend! Don't hesitate to buy 2 Sunday papers if you feel like the coupons will benefit you; just make sure that before you buy the paper that the coupons have not been 'stolen' out of your paper. Make sure that you thumb through the 'Parade' insert because they sometimes have coupons in there also.

To get the most out of your Sunday coupons, if you have a 'couponing' friend, once you have each clipped what you want, swap coupon papers (not sure if I typed that clearly). If your friend does not have a baby and you do, then most likely any baby coupons will be left with the coupons that you swapped with her.

2. Products: At times there will be a sticker coupon on the actual product that you are buying. Make sure to watch out for this before you purchase the item. Unfortunately, often times, the cashier will not alert you of this, so pay close attention.

3. Facebook: Do you like a store or a certain brand? Visit their FB page and LIKE them. Often times they will have a special coupon for FB fans. For example, 'Nabisco Cookies' displays a coupon on their Wall the first of every month, but once the 1st is gone, you can no longer print the coupon. NOTE: When you print a coupon off of the internet, you are allowed to print 2 coupons per printer-- just hit the back button and a second coupon will print!

4. The Internet: There are a few websites that will give you a list of coupons made available for you to print. Here are ones that I can think of off the top of my head: www.cvs.com (at times will have manufacturer coupons and store coupons-- store coupons can only be used at that particular store unless another store accepts competitor coupons), www.target.com (located at the bottom of the screen), www.coupons.com (these are changed out monthly), www.redplum.com, www.cellfire.com (this is a website that allows you to load coupons onto your actual 'store rewards card'. At times they have a FREE $ coupon. This means when you log in you will automatically get up to a certain $ amount loaded onto your store card to spend on anything!). Take time to visit your favorite brands website, they may have coupons they are offering (Kraft and Proctor and Gamble are some examples). When in doubt, if you are looking for a particular coupon and you are not sure if it is available, visit my FAVORITE website http://thekrazycouponlady.com/. LOVE HER!!!! Once you are on her website, click 'Print Coupons' and she has a huge list of what coupons are available online. REMINDER: When you print a coupon off of the internet, you are allowed to print 2 coupons per printer-- just hit the back button and a second coupon will print!

5. Coupon Clippers: I do not this personally, but if it works for you then go for it. There are some websites that offer coupon clipping. Basically they have a list of coupons that are available to you for purchase from them. You select what you want, purchase, and they mail to you. I do not have any website available since I do not practice this method, but if you are interested you should google for them. Tell me how it works if you use them.

6. FREE SAMPLES: If your local grocery store, wholesale store, Target, Walmart is giving out samples of a product, more than likely.... there is a coupon that comes with that sample! In addition, there are product websites that offer samples (throughout the year) as well. These normally come with coupons also. In addition, once you request a sample, the company has your mailing address and at times will mail you special offers which may include additional coupons. Yipee!

These are the main ways that I get my coupons. If I realize I missed anything I will add later ;-)

Your Coupon Binder Will Be Your New Best Friend

Once you complete your coupon binder, you will discover that you have a new BFF!  Think of your coupon binder like you think of your purse; it goes where you go! Even if you think that you are running into Target or Walmart to grab some shampoo, take it with you. You never know what type of sale or clearance item that you will find that you could possibly match with a coupon.

Just like you know your best friend in and out, you need to know your coupon binder in and out! Before you go shopping, eye over your binder and take a mental note as to the coupons that you have. Doing this will be helpful when and if you pass by a possible bargain.

Take care of your binder. Make sure that you periodically (as you file new coupons) look at the expiration dates of the coupons that you currently have and remove any that have expired.

When I go shopping, I like to have my binder in the front seat of the buggy, open and ready for me to flip through. This makes it easy to find specific coupons that I may be looking for.

As you shop.... don't be surprised when and if people stop you to ask you how you set your binder up! Make sure to share ;-)

The BEST Way to Store Your Coupons

After having my 'Coupons 101' class, I had to retire the old coupon box that my mother had given me and replace it with a 'Coupon Binder'. This - by far- is the best and most organized way to store your coupons. Here is what you need to do to make it work:

Purchase or look around your house for a Five Star Binder. Then purchase Baseball Card Holders-- you can get these at Target where the baseball cards are sold (normally near the front of the store). I purchased 2-3 packs but depending on the number of coupons you have will depend on the number of holders you will need. Make sure they are Baseball Card Holders with 9 holders per page. You will then need to get page dividers.

Once you have your supplies you will need to decide how you want to categorize your dividers. This is 100% up to you, everyone does it differently because everyone's life habits and needs are different. A few of my dividers are Baby, Beverages, Laundry, Toiletries, Dairy, Meat/Meals, Snacks, Store Coupons (such as Target/ CVS/ HEB/ etc..). Some people like to be specific with how they label the dividers, others like to make it simple. I like to make it simple with less dividers but that is just me.

Once you have your dividers created, you can then begin putting your book together. Simply place a few sheets between each divider. There may be some dividers that have more sheets more then the other depending on how many types of coupons you have.

Below is a picture of my divider:

When you file your coupons, make sure that you pay attention to the expiration dates. Sometimes you will get multiple coupons with different expiration dates. Make sure the coupon that expires the soonest is in the front of the line.

Coupons! What Are Those?

When I was growing up I would always help my mom clip coupons, file coupons and remove the expired coupons from her little coupon holder. At the time, I knew what coupons were but I did not know 'WHAT COUPONS WERE'!

As I grew up and moved out of my mom's house I began to continue the clipping of the coupons. My mom had given me a little coupon box that contained index cards that included the category in which the coupon was to be filed in. I would use the coupon box on and off throughout my life. Often times I would abuse my little coupon box and not give it the attention that it deserved, until the day I discovered 'WHAT COUPONS WERE'!

I must give a huge and loud 'shout out' to one of my past daycare moms, my money saving hero and friend, Shannon (aka Clara's mom). She would post 'deals' that she got on FB and then write about her obsession with coupons and I have to admit I giggled a little. Really, who needs all that air freshener? Little did I know..... I did! Maybe I did not need it now, or this week but throughout my life I could sure use it.

One day Shannon sat me down and gave me a class called 'Coupons 101'. I was amazed at all the information that she shared with me. I was amazed at what I had been missing my entire life. I was amazed that I had laughed at her! This was better than any high school/ college course (not that I went to college- no shame in that) could offer! From that moment.... my life changed forever!

The lesson that I had learned that day was that 'coupons' are MONEY and if used properly could save you more than the face value of that coupon.

With 'Coupons 101' under my belt, I vowed never to abuse my little coupon box (which is now a coupon binder- will explain later) again! I also vowed to do my best to help anyone and everyone - even those that really don't care -- how to make your dollar stretch and walk away with doing a Happy Dance after getting an awesome deal!

In this blog, I will explain- in detail- how it can be done. I am sure there are other and better ways, but these are ways I do it. If you know of other ways, please share ;-) I am going to provide A LOT of helpful information so please do not feel overwhelmed with all of the information and take it slow and please stick with it and don't give up.  If you don't understand, email me fauciaimee@att.net, or comment on this post or FB me if you are already my FB friend.

Check my blog often for updates, lessons and special deals that I find!
